The HypeAfrobeatz Spotlight returns with a focus on fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats recording artist, songwriter, and performer VJ Hyper. Lagos-based but proudly hailing from Akwa Ibom State, VJ Hyper—born Victor John—has been actively pursuing music for over eight years, steadily building his sound and presence.
He currently has four singles available across major streaming platforms: “Thank You Lord,” “Know Me” (featuring Splendid & Kanistar), “Loving You,” and “Akwa Ibom Boi.” VJ Hyper has also performed on major stages alongside notable Nigerian acts including Solid Star, Joel Amadi, Flavour, and others. His collaborations include work with producers and artists such as Yangbeatz, Cash Krop, Splendid, and more.
Recently, VJ Hyper signed with Port Harcourt–based Brodaman Records, founded by music executive and philanthropist Ephraim Okah. Under the label, he is set to release a series of new singles before the end of 2025, with plans to drop an EP in 2026.
Driven by persistence and passion, VJ Hyper is steadily positioning himself as a name to watch in the Afrobeats scene.
