Tiwa began her music career as a backup vocalist for notable artists such as George Michael and Mary J. Blige, which laid the foundation for her success. She returned to Nigeria in 2012, signing with Mavin Records, and released her debut album, “Once Upon a Time” in 2013. This was followed by “R.E.D” in 2015, featuring hit songs like “My Darling”, and her EP “Sugarcane” in 2017. Her third album, “Celia”, released in 2020, gained international recognition, solidifying her position as a global Afrobeats icon. Her latest song, “Forgiveness” (2024), continues to showcase her evolving musical talent.

Tiwa Savage is known for her trending songs, including “All Over”, “Koroba”, and “Somebody’s Son”. Tiwa’s influence on the global stage has earned her recognition, including being the first woman to win the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act in 2018. She has also been associated with the Grammy Awards through collaborations with international artists.

Tiwa Savage was married to her ex husband Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun in 2013, and the couple welcomed their son, Jamil Balogun, in 2015.
