Nigerian music sensation Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has opened up about what he describes as the greatest financial mistake of his career.
In a recent interview, the “Obapluto” hitmaker revealed that at the height of his early success, he made several poor financial decisions, driven by excitement and a desire to enjoy the rewards of fame. Shallipopi admitted that he spent extravagantly on luxury fashion items, cars, and nightlife, rather than focusing on investments or savings that could secure his future.
The Edo-born artist confessed that those choices nearly left him financially unstable, serving as a wake-up call to reassess his priorities. “I was spending too much trying to maintain an image. I thought the money would always flow,” he reportedly said.
He noted that the experience reshaped his outlook on money management, pushing him to seek financial guidance and adopt a more disciplined approach to his earnings. Shallipopi now advises young artists and fans to learn from his journey by prioritizing savings, investments, and financial literacy over short-term pleasures.
According to him, true success goes beyond fame and material display — it lies in building stability and long-term security.
