Naira sheds N1.22 against dollar at official window

The Nigerian currency, the naira, depreciated against the American dollar at the official window on Thursday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,502.13/$1, as against N1,500.91/$1 it traded on Wednesday.

This represents a depreciation of N1.22 for the local currency against the American greenback.

The naira lost N5 against the dollar to trade at N1,540/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,535/$1.

The naira closed flat against the British Pound to trade at N2,100/£1.

It also closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,230/CA$1.

The local currency lost N5 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,790/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,785/€1.
