The arrest of suspects in relation to the robbery and stabbing event involving Lil Kesh has been confirmed by the police.
The arrest of two key suspects in connection with the savage attack on Nigerian artist Ololade Keshinro, better known by his stage name Lil Kesh, has been verified by the Kano State Police Command.
After an intelligence-led operation, the suspects—who were named as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad—were captured in Kano’s Na’ibawa Quarters.
The vanguard claims that on August 19, 2025, the two attacked the artist at his home in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos, causing him to sustain severe slashes on his neck in an effort to murder him.
Lil Kesh assured his fans on X that he was recovering shortly after the event.
“Despite the unexpected turn of events in my life, I’m safe, recovering, and grateful to be here. I appreciate the prayers, love, and support,” he stated.
The Kano Police Command said in a Saturday update via X that the suspects had been found in possession of ₦2.12 million, which was linked to the heist. Since then, both guys have been moved to the Lagos State Police Command for additional examination and legal action.
SP Abdullahi Haruna, a police spokesperson, revealed that Adewole acknowledged attacking the singer before using his cell phone to transfer ₦2,120,000 from his account to Muhammad’s.
As instructed by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Haruna called the arrests a “major breakthrough” made possible by information collection and community cooperation.
In order to effectively combat violent crimes, he continued, the Command is nonetheless dedicated to bolstering its intelligence infrastructure and maintaining community policing tactics.
