Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has opened up about his passion for supporting veterans in the Nigerian film industry.
Sharing photos of himself with several industry veterans on Instagram, Kunle explained that helping them brings him immense joy, noting that everyone will one day reach such a stage in life. He described his efforts as laying a legacy for the younger generation and prayed for those who contribute financially to assist these industry icons.
He wrote:
“Doing what I do gives me joy. We should all remember that we will reach the same position one day. Legacy for the younger ones is the mark I’m laying. God bless all those who gave their all to make this job what it is today. God will continue to protect and provide for them all.”
Recently, Kunle raised over N600,000 for veteran actor Baba Ariyo, who has been a tenant in his house for 40 years. The actor had shared a heartbreaking video of Baba Ariyo’s poor living conditions, which left him deeply moved.

Over the years, Kunle Afod has gained admiration for his unwavering love and support for Nollywood veterans.
Two months ago, he visited senior colleague Pa Tunbosun Odunsi following the loss of his wife, sharing an emotional video from Ibadan that left many fans in tears. Last year, he visited veteran actor Charles Olumo shortly before his passing, and was impressed to see him in high spirits, even jumping for joy—a moment that left Kunle in awe and praying for similar grace.
In January, Kunle made a heartfelt appeal to colleagues to assist veteran actress Iya Niwen after visiting her in Ibadan, expressing excitement at finally meeting her and encouraging support to get her back on set.
He also paid a surprise visit to Lere Paimo (Eda Onile Ola), calling for assistance for the veteran. Many Nigerians responded generously, donating cash gifts to support him.
Through these actions, Kunle Afod continues to demonstrate a deep commitment to preserving the legacy of Nollywood veterans while inspiring the younger generation.
