Nigerian singer Harrysong has replied to his ex-wife, Alexer Peres, over their custody battle.
Naijabrain reported that Alexer had announced her decision to temporarily give up custody of their two children, aged four and three, in an emotional video. She described the move as the hardest decision of her life, citing years of pressure following her separation from the singer.
Alexer accused her ex-husband of constant harassment and interference, alleging that he frequently showed up at her home unannounced. She also raised concerns about the children living with domestic staff, alleging that their father is rarely around.
Responding to her via his Instagram story, Harrysong said he has chosen to remain silent to protect the mother of his child and, most importantly, their kids, because what’s said online lives forever.
Harrysong noted that he had previously made the mistake of speaking from emotion and had learnt the hard way. He made it clear that he never said his ex-wife couldn’t have access to their kids, and that their being in his custody is a decision known to him
The singer stated that he is an active and present father and has continued to provide for them, even while they were in their care. He said the narrative about him is deeply hurtful and risks damaging the very image and career that supports their children.
“I’ve chosen restraint to protect the mother of my children and, most importantly, our kids because what’s said online lives forever.
I previously made the mistake of speaking from emotion and learnt the hard way.
I never said she couldn’t have access to them.
Them been in my custody is a decision made for reasons u can’t put out on the internet.
I’ve remained active, present father and have continued to provide for our children, even while they were in her care.
The current narrative online is deeply hurtful and risks damaging the very image and career that supports our children. Is it worth it?
I won’t engage in public back-and-forth that could one day harm them.
My focus remains their well-being”.
Early last year, Alexer had hinted at officially ending her marriage to the singer. She finally took the bold step she had always wanted and is now a free woman.
2024 was definitely a challenging one for Alexer, whose marriage to Harrysong hit the rocks and led to the loss of her third pregnancy. Harrysong had accused her of infidelity, citing that she cheated on him during their marriage, and while she was pregnant.
He had also dragged her mother into the mix, claiming that his ex-mother-in-law was currently in her seventh marital home, hence her inability to raise her daughter well. He had also dragged Destiny Etiko into it as he accused her of playing a huge role in their divorce.
Alexer Peres didn’t let it slide, as she threw jabs at Harrysong, claiming that he still wets the bed. Harrysong clapped back, expressing how happy he was that he was finally free from her, whom he called Agent of Darkness.
Responding to him, Alexer shared a shady video where she was asked to either return to her ex or speak Chinese, and Alexer chose to speak Chinese.
