The full list of the 24 squads set to compete at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has now been confirmed. The tournament will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
The 35th edition of Africa’s premier men’s football competition will be staged across six Moroccan cities, with the final taking place in Rabat. For the first time in its history, AFCON will be played during the festive period, spanning Christmas and New Year.
Host nation Morocco head into the tournament as strong contenders, buoyed by their historic semi-final finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They will face stiff competition from seven-time champions Egypt, defending champions Côte d’Ivoire, and regular title contenders Senegal, Nigeria, and Algeria.
Fans can look forward to watching Africa’s biggest stars light up the tournament, including Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Díaz for Morocco, Mohamed Salah for Egypt, Victor Osimhen for Nigeria, Sadio Mané for Senegal, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Gabon, Lyle Foster for South Africa, and Bryan Mbeumo for Cameroon, all set to spearhead their national teams.
