Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the official opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), joining a star-studded lineup featuring French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z, and Lartiste.
The announcement was made on Thursday, December 18, 2025, by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of the activities kicking off Africa’s premier football tournament. According to CAF, the concert will take place on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, running from 6:00 pm to midnight local time.
Fans will have free entry to the event with Fan IDs and match tickets, making it an exciting curtain-raiser ahead of the tournament’s opening matches.
Davido’s participation further solidifies his status as a go-to performer for major international sporting events. Earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated singer took the stage at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival in Abeokuta. He has also performed at the 2017 AFCON opening ceremony, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
Sharing the stage with Davido will be Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, Lartiste, Douaa Lahyaoui, and Says’Z.
