Nigerian Comedian Princess Reacts to Backlash Following Baba Ijesha’s Release
Nigerian comedian Princess has spoken out against critics following the release of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha. Naijabrain reported on Friday, November 15th, that Baba Ijesha was released from prison after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Announcing the release on his Instagram page, actor Yomi Fabiyi revealed that Baba Ijesha had been cleared by the Appeal Court. He expressed his joy at the actor’s freedom, stating that Ijesha is “not just back, but better.”

Princess Fires Back at Critics
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Princess addressed those cursing her over Baba Ijesha’s release. She said critics could “send their daughters to him for Christmas,” emphasizing that God does not condone child abuse.
Princess reiterated that Baba Ijesha is a convicted serial paedophile and called on schools, hotels, and landlords to bar him from their premises. She also urged the Lagos State Government to publicly list him as a sex offender.
“I can see some people cursing me, saying God will punish me after Baba Ijesha’s release. God doesn’t support child defilement. Baba Ijesha is a convicted serial paedophile and rapist. He has dozens of victims. I am calling on schools, hotels, and landlords not to allow him on their premises,” she said.
She added, “His full name is Olanrewaju James Omiyinka. I am also calling on the Lagos State Government to publish his name publicly as a sex offender. He rapes both young and adult victims. After assaulting a child, he moves around, relocating from Mafoluku to Oworo, Lagos Island, and other areas.”

Background
In 2021, Princess accused Baba Ijesha of defiling her 14-year-old ward. A video of the actress alleging the molestation went viral online. The case created a rift in Nollywood, with stars like Iyabo Ojo supporting Princess, while Yomi Fabiyi defended Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha was initially sentenced to 16 years imprisonment but was to serve five years consecutively. Following the court’s decision to clear him, Princess expressed her emotions in a jubilant video shared online.
