Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has surely earned the title of “Grandma of the Year” with the lavish welcome she gave her grandson, baby Rakeem, upon his arrival in Nigeria.
Recall that on August 24th, Kemi Filani reported that Priscilla and her Tanzanian husband, Juma Jux, welcomed their first child — a baby boy named Prince Raheem Ayomide Mkambala — in Canada.
The couple, who had been hinting at their return to Nigeria for an upcoming appearance, have finally arrived in the country.
In a video shared on Iyabo Ojo’s Instagram page, the actress was seen giving her daughter, her son-in-law, and her grandson a grand reception. She went all out, hiring dancers and worshippers to joyfully welcome the family into her home.
Among those present at the grand welcome were actress Semilore Pweety, entrepreneur Chioma Good Hair, and several other notable guests.
Earlier this month, baby Rakeem turned 40 days old, and his parents, Priscilla and Juma Jux, marked the milestone with a warm family gathering in Tanzania.
Following the celebration, Iyabo Ojo took to her Instagram page to share beautiful photos from the event, expressing gratitude to everyone for their love and support. The proud grandmother also offered heartfelt prayers to her fans and well-wishers.
When Rakeem clocked one month, the Labake Olododo producer posted an adorable video of herself and Juma’s mother twinning in matching outfits as they joyfully danced with their grandson.
In a touching note, Priscilla appreciated her mother for her unwavering support during her pregnancy, revealing how Iyabo put her business, work, and personal life in Lagos on hold to care for her and her unborn child. She lovingly crowned her mum the “best grandma in the world.”
Days before the baby’s arrival, Iyabo had showered prayers on Priscilla and Juma as they prepared to embrace parenthood.
Back in August, the actress also disclosed her plans for her grandchild’s naming ceremony. In a video shared on Instagram, she announced that after completing her Omugwo (postnatal care), she would be hosting a lavish naming ceremony in Lagos.
